BloodCenter of Wisconsin will hold a blood drive Friday from 10am to 2pm at the Juneau County Courthouse in Mauston. It is open to the public. Anyone 17 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donors are also welcome. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. The entire process takes about an hour. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date. No injuries were reported in a single vehicle crash in the Town of Kildare in Juneau County. Last Friday night, around 10:55pm, Bethany Vergari of Battle Creek, Michigan, was southbound on County Highway HH. The accident report states, Vergari failed to negotiate a curve, striking the ditch. The vehicle travelled along the ditch about 100 feet before striking a power pole, breaking it off at the base and power lines fell across the road. Authorities were able to get ahold of the power company to fix the pole. Vergari was wearing a seat belt and her passenger was not injured. She was cited for failing to have control of her

A Geno man received non-life threatening injuries after a single vehicle accident in Vernon County Wednesday night.  According to Vernon County authorities, 61-year-old Robert M. Ziegler was operating a vehicle eastbound on Malin Road, near the village of Genoa. While negotiating a curve to the left, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, travelled down a steep embankment and came to rest against a tree. Ziegler was transported to Gundersen Health System, in La Crosse. The crash remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
