Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins reports an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of 1/22/2018. Shortly after 2:30am Monroe County Dispatch received a call of a robbery and vehicle theft that occurred in the Town of Sparta. The caller advised that the suspected had entered her residence and assaulted the caller before taking personal belongings and car keys. The suspect then took the caller’s vehicle. The suspect was located and taken into custody by Tomah Police following a pursuit with the stolen vehicle. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed the vehicle into a guardrail. A Wisconsin Rapids man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting and killing a man who was having an affair with his wife.
