Days after the Florida school shooting that left 17 people dead, Republican Kevin Nicholson was asked about the shooting and whether anything should be done. Nicholson, who touts his support of the Second Amendment, is running for the U.S. Senate seat held by Wisconsin Democrat Tammy Baldwin. He appeared on the Feb. 18, 2018 edition of "UpFront with Mike Gousha," a Milwaukee-based public affairs TV show. Jeremy Resler, age 40 of Mauston, was charged with two domestic abuse charges including Strangulation and Disorderly Conduct.  Resler’s Criminal Complaint states he was screaming expletives at the victim, while holding her and picking her up by the throat, all in the presence of his young children. Michael Menard, age 61 of Mauston, was cited for Hit and Run, and Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control, for a crash that occurred last Tuesday night.  Menard said he swerved to avoid hitting a deer and lost control, destroying a stop sign and a street sign.  He said he was going to report the incident later. More than 160 Oxycodone pills of various sizes were reported stolen from a residence located in Necedah Township on the morning of January 16th.  Also taken was a Sentry lock box.  If anyone has any further information they should contact the Sheriff’s Department.
