Wisconsin Democrats drop gerrymandering case as Republicans say they may seek fees for taxpayers

The maneuvering in the long-running case came a day after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4  that federal courts can't consider allegations that partisans drew election maps to favor themselves.
