>>Madison Police Officer Injured While Arresting Drunk Man

(Madison, WI)  —  A knee injury suffered by a Madison police officer will escalate the charge against a 19-year-old man to a felony.  Police officers who responded to a call early Saturday morning say the suspect was drunk.  Witnesses say he was screaming that he needed “protective armor” at about 12:30 a-m.  The man was taken in to the de-tox facility when he started fighting officers, injuring one of them.  The knee injury required medical evaluation and attention.  The names of the suspect and the officer who was injured have not been released.

 

>>Minnesota Man Caught In Underage Child Sex Sting

(Eau Claire, WI)  —  Eau Claire police say a man from Minnesota admitted he drove to that western Wisconsin city to have sex with a young girl.  Spencer Kuehl was arrested in a police sex sting and he has a hearing scheduled for March.  Kuehl was caught when an undercover officer posed as a father offering his eight- and 11-year-old daughters for sex.  Kuehl responded, sending a picture of himself, which was used to identify him from a previous prostitution case.  When he arrived, Kuehl offered 200 dollars to the undercover office to have sex with his non-existent 11-year-old daughter.

 

>>Jury Selection Starts For Man Accused Of Stealing Guns In Rock County

(Janesville, WI)  —  Jury selection starts today in Rock County for the man accused of stealing guns, writing an anti-government manifesto and leading authorities on a 10-day manhunt last spring.  Joseph Jakubowski is already serving a 14-year prison sentence for his conviction on federal gun crimes.  Prosecutors say the 33-year-old broke into Armageddon Supplies in Janesville, stealing guns, magazines and ammunition.  Only four of the guns he’s accused of stealing have been recovered.  Jakubowski has refused to say where the other weapons are.
