Reiber, Edward “Bud”, age 93 of Adams

Edward “Bud” Reiber, age 93, 2230 11th Avenue, Adams, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

 

Bud was born on March 10, 1924 in Oakdale, Wisconsin to Louie and Louise Reiber. When he was a young boy the family moved by horse drawn sleigh to rural Adams within a few miles of his present home where he has resided for 68 years.

 

He enlisted in the Army in 1943 where he served in Africa and Italy during WWII. He was discharged in 1946.  In 1949, he married Celia Page of Adams. They had three children. A son Phil and two daughters, Gail and Judy.

 

Bud worked for Harley Davidson, Nash Kelvinator Corp., Badger Ordinance Ammunition Plant and spent the majority of his working years as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Adams Friendship School District. In addition to his full-time employment he spent endless hours raising beef cattle on his 160-acre farm which was his true passion.

 

He was well known in the tractor world for his expansive collection of Ford tractors.

 

Locally he served the people of Adams Township for 36 years as Supervisor 1.

 

Time permitting on “Reiber’s No Rest Acres” Bud also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

 

Bud is survived by his wife Celia of 68 years and his children Phil of Adams, Gail of Ripon and Judy (Randy) Loring of West Virginia.  Also, granddaughters Ashley, Carie and Kami; and great grandson, Colton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law and friends that were there for him.

 

Immediate family that preceded him in death were his parents, brother Raymond and sisters Adeline, Shirley and Dorothy.

 

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held on 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.     Rev. John K. Stake will officiate.  Visitation time will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.  Please join us as we share memories and enjoy social time together. Immediately following the visitation Bud will be laid to rest with military honors at Easton Cemetery.
