Chaseburg Man Strikes 100 Construction Barrels in Vernon County

Authorities say an 18-year-old Chaseburg man drove through about 100 construction barrels in Vernon County on two consecutive nights last week. According to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Alexxander S. Bishop drove into the barrels in the road construction zone on Highway 14/61, on the East Coon Valley Hill, located in the town of Coon after midnight on Tuesday and at about 1:30am Wednesday. Spears said on both occasions Bishop left the scene before authorities arrived. Throughout the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers were able to identify Bishop as the driver of the vehicle. Bishop did not report any injuries in either instance. Criminal charges are being referred to the Vernon County District Attorney’s office.
