Monroe County Emergency Management Update on Flooding

Monroe County Emergency Management reports of multiple areas in the County with ongoing flooding due to the storms that started around 6:00 pm on 7/19/2017. The biggest concentrated area in the County that is experiencing major flooding is the South West part of Monroe County. There are numerous roads that are closed to include County Roads and Highways. State Hwy 27 from I-90 Interstate to Hwy 33 is closed with no detour suggested. Families are being evacuated along the way. In the City of Sparta, Long Court has been evacuated. Early damage estimates from flooding in southeastern Wisconsin last week are at $26 million, and are expected to increase. For the second time in as many years, Tomah Memorial Hospital has been recognized for using technology to enhance care and create a new patient interactions. Hospitals and Health Networks has published its Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems, which included Tomah Memorial as a “Most Wired” facility among small and rural facilities across the US.
