Mauston Man Arrested After Hitting a Juneau County Squad Vehicle

A Mauston man was arrested for operating while intoxicated after striking a Juneau County squad car. According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, early Saturday morning, around 12:40am, two Juneau County deputies were assisting a State Trooper with a traffic stop on Highway 12&16, near County Highway J between Lyndon Station and Mauston. The trooper and deputies were standing near their squads when they observed a westbound vehicle driving at the estimated speed limit, but was on the shoulder of the road. Man Killed After Being Struck by Train

A man was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a train Sunday night. According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, an initial investigation revealed a westbound Canadian Pacific train struck a male subject who was between the tracks in the Village of Lyndon Station. Investigators believe the victim is a 20-year-old Lyndon Station man, but positive verification of the victim is pending. The subject was pronounced dead at the scene by the Juneau County Coroner.
