As part of year-round efforts to prevent crashes and enhance safety for commercial motor vehicle operators and all travelers, inspectors with the Wisconsin State Patrol will join their law enforcement counterparts across North America during “Brake Safety Day” on Thursday, September 7. During the annual event sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), motor carrier officers will intensify inspections of brake systems on large trucks, buses and other commercial motor vehicles. Incident of Criminal Damage to Property and Theft in Lyndon Station

There was an incident of theft and criminal damage to property in  Village of Lyndon Station. Sometime between 2pm August 29th and 3pm August 30th, an unknown person or persons forcibly entered a residence on West Limits Road. Police say there was damage to the front door and its knob and frame as well as damage to an interior bedroom door. There were also cuts and damage to the wires leading to both the main floor and the basement electrical service panels. It was over $2,000 in stolen property and damages. Walker Seeks SBA Loans For West Wisconsin Flood Victims

(Madison, WI)  —  Governor Scott Walker has taken another step to help western Wisconsin homes and businesses clean up their flood damage from July. The governor has asked the US Small Business Administration to inspect damage in La Crosse County where 37 homes and businesses were destroyed or had major damage and Tremepeleau County where 19 houses and companies suffered the same fate. If approved, those owners could get low interest SBA loans. The Federal Emergency Management Agency says the region did not have enough uninsured flood losses to approve direct grants for home and business owners.
