The Mauston High School cross country teams competed at the 50th Annual Peter Neilsen CC Relay meet hosted by Kettle Morraine High School. This competition gave the Golden Eagles an opportunity to race with some very good completion from the southeast /Milwaukee metro area, and there were twenty teams competed at the event. ”We have been competing at this meet for the past twenty years, this years meet was one of the most challenging our teams have ever experienced at the relay meet. Clara P. Bialas, age 99 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, died Friday, September 22, 2017 and went home to the Lord. Clara was born to Laura (Diettrich) and Paul Eltag in the town of Lemonweir on July 17, 1918. Beloved mother and grandmother, she was an excellent cook, outdoors woman and gardener. Her strength and determination were and continue to be an inspiration to all her family. She is survived by children Francis Standish, Thomas (Esther) Standish, Joan (Gary) Lorbiecki, William Standish, Carol Tabb, Jeanette (Jonathan) Strandjord, Stephen Bialas Jr. (Marilyn Bean) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
