Tomah Memorial Breaks Ground, Announces Name Change

Work has officially begun on construction of a new hospital in Tomah. Officials from Tomah Memorial Hospital, area dignitaries, elected officials and hospital staff broke ground Thursday on a new $66 million facility along Gopher Avenue near Interstate 90 on Tomah’s south side. Hospital board president Paul Potter said while the new three-story, 140,000 square foot facility will be state of the art, it is the staff that will make the new hospital first-class. During the ceremony, Gundersen Health System officials announced that they will build a new medical office building on the hospital site to replace its clinic on Tomah’s north end. New Lisbon Breaks Ground on New Concession Stand

The School District of New Lisbon broke ground on their new concession stand and restrooms. The new stand will be placed about where the current one is standing. The groundbreaking is the start of phase 1 of the new athletic complex. Superintendent Dennis Birr thanked coaches and supporters at the groundbreaking, saying it was just the beginning. Birr said that phase two, which they expect would be the softball field. The New Lisbon Educational Foundation is paying for the athletic field complex project, and so far they have raised $236,556.
