Leslie W. Bandt, age 69, of Appleton, Wisconsin died Monday, October 16, 2017 at Brewster Village in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Pastor Sam Downey will officiate. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 12 Noon until the time of service on Tuesday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Leslie was born July 12, 1948 in Adams, Wisconsin to William and Rena Bandt. In 1960 he moved to Brillion, WI with his family. He finished his schooling in Brillion.
He attended the University of Oshkosh for a short time until he was drafted into the Airforce during the Vietnam conflict.
In Les’s own words he said he wasn’t sure what happened, but he ended up back in the States in a hospital.
Life was never easy for him after that, but he still had many happy years at home with his parents, his brother, his niece Jessie and tons of other relatives.
He spent the last 10 years in Brewster Village nursing home in Appleton, while there, he met a very loving friend named Judy Svoboda. She remained at his side until he passed away; with her holding his hand.
Les was preceded in death by his mother Rena, and his father William.
He was known as a big guy with a heart just as big. He was a very big fan of the Packers and Brewers never missing watching them on tv.
Leaving behind to miss him is his brother John, niece Jessie May, one uncle Hollis Bandt of Wautoma, one Aunt Charlotte Warren of Adams, and many cousins, and of course Judy, and friend Ann Turner.
