Scheeler, Edward C., age 89, of Cazenovia
Edward C. Scheeler, age 89, of Cazenovia, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at his home. He was born May 5, 1928 the son of Carl Edward and Clara (Scharf) Scheeler in Clark County, WI. Following his graduation from Cazenovia High School in 1946, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #491. Ed was united in marriage to Shirley Seidel on March 9, 1953 in Iowa.
Together with his wife Shirley, they owned and operated Scheeler Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. He was a “jack of all trades” if he didn’t know how to do something, he made a point to figure it out. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Pray, WI with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his wife, Shirley of Cazenovia;
Children: Rodney (Sandy) Scheeler of Reedsburg,
Debra Bauer of Cazenovia,
Cindy (Merlin Brandt) Spencer of Cazenovia;
Siblings, Grace Whalen and Richard Scheeler;
10 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren;
Along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson’s, Scott Spencer and Daniel Bauer; brother, James Scheeler; and sisters, Doris Ewing and Betty Mead.
Funeral services for Edward Scheeler will be conducted on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in La Valle with Pastor Robert Butler officiating. Burial will take place in the Cazenovia Hillside Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Cazenovia Chapel in Cazenovia and again on Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church in LaValle.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
