Spring Green Man Arrested for OWI-6th Offense After Hitting Multiple Cars and Leading Deputies on Pursuit
A Spring Green man led sheriff’s deputies on a short pursuit Saturday afternoon after being involved in a hit-and-run crash involving several vehicles. Sauk County authorities said in a release, they received a call around 1:30 p.m. reporting a hit-and-run crash with injuries involving three vehicles on Highway 23/33 near Aults Road in the town of Excelsior. A deputy located the suspect vehicle heading east on Highway 23/33. The suspect, 44-year-old Shawn P. Moran, failed to stop for the deputy, resulting in a brief pursuit until finally entering a private driveway and yard, damaging a fire number sign in the process. Moran was arrested on tentative charges of sixth-offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, causing injury while operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, knowingly fleeing an officer, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, failure to obey a stop sign, hit-and-run causing injury, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a probation violation.
