Heisel, Leslie V., age 74 of Hillsboro
Leslie V. Heisel, age 74 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
He was born on June 16, 1943 in Vernon County, Wisconsin and grew up in the Hillsboro area and graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1961.
Leslie served in the U.S. Army following school. He was united in marriage to Sandra Smith on May 23, 1970 in Hillsboro.
Les was an area carpenter and electrician; he was a very talented craftsman and tackled many construction jobs from small to large.
He was a loving father and family man. He always was helpful with kind words to everyone around him. Les enjoyed deer hunting and spending time getting away to Warrens.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Hillsboro; three sons, Vaughn (Jennifer Brown) of Boscobel, Craig (Jennifer) of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Derek (Ximena) of Ecuador; three grandchildren, Henry, Josephine, and Haley and a sister, Wanda (Dennis) Curry of Footville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Freda and step father, Marion Markee and brother, Meade Bolden.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Forest-Burr Cemetery.
