Heideman, Jeanne Sue, age 76, of Friendship
Jeanne Sue Heideman 76, a 38-year resident of Friendship passed away September 26 at her home in Friendship Wisc. after an 8-month battle with cancer.
Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM October 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arkdale, with service at 11AM and luncheon at church to follow. Jeanne will be interned at Arkdale South.
Jeanne was born 9/30/40 in Leona Wisconsin to Ralph Wooland and Kathleen Fowler Wooland. Jeanne, a graduate of Marshfield Senior High was voted “most likely to succeed” and said to be “little but mighty”. Jeanne was a beautiful Queen of Job’s Daughters during High School.
Graduating from nurses training at St Joseph’s Hospital Marshfield, part of the Marshfield Clinic in 1961, she worked as RN in West Allis Memorial Hospital Milwaukee and Sherman Hospital Elgin Il. where she served as Supervising nurse of departments of Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Medical Emergency.
Ed and Jeanne moved in 1979 from Dundee Il. to Friendship where she worked for Public Health until retiring in 2002.
Very active in the community a 30 year volunteer for Adams County Library, as well as Faith In Action, Act Theater, Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, Sunday With Friends. Jeanne was voted and received a plaque for “Adams County Outstanding Citizen” in 2012. Many in the community were fortunate enough to dine on Jeanne’s superb cooking which she did for large groups at Trinity Lutheran in Arkdale.
Jeanne hand selected several charitable organizations to which she and Ed wrote out checks every month.
A lifelong Packer fan “green Jeanne” called by her niece Jess always wore Packer gear on game along with her dog Lucy.
She loved her family cottage near the Dells where she paddled on the river in her lime green kayak.
Her birthday card list was so huge that Hallmark sends Jeanne a birthday card every year in thanks for such a good customer.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband Edward formally from Algonquin Il. Brother Ralph Wooland, sister Karen Muto (Wooland), nephews, and nieces.
Memorial donations can be sent to Cancer Society. Thank you to Hospice of Tomah for their thoughtful help in caring for Jeanne in her last days at home.
