One Injured After Crashing Through Shed
A Genoa man received minor injuries when the car he was riding in went off the road and crashed through a machine shed early Friday morning. Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said 33-year-old Ivan A. Baer of Genoa, was Northbound on Curti Rd in the Town of Genoa when his vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole, went through a fence, and then struck a machine shed, going through the sliding doors and striking several pieces of machinery. The vehicle came to rest in the machine shed against a corn planter. The passenger, 24-year-old Dmitry Baer of Genoa was transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Spears said neither man was wearing seatbelts and that the vehicle’s airbags did deployed.
