Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital and Clinics to Hold Stepping On Program
Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital and Clinics will be providing a program to help individuals who have experienced or are at risk of falling. The Stepping On program is a seven week program that begins Friday, September 15 from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Eagleview room at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hillsboro. The program meets for two hours a week over a seven-week period. Topics include balance and strength training, vision, medications, footwear and home safety. The threat of falling can become a barrier to many of life’s activities and reduce an individual’s participation. In fact, 35 percent of those who have experienced a fall become less active. This program is available to residents from Juneau, Monroe, Sauk, Richland and Vernon counties. For more information and to register, call Carol Behm, RN at (608) 489-8156 or Cheryl Vulstek, RN at (608) 489-8116.
