Madison Man Charged with Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
A Madison man has been charged with felony second degree recklessly endangering safety. 31-year-old David Ryckman is also charged with hit and run, attended vehicle, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping, all misdemeanors. According to the criminal complaint, on July 5, in the Village of Lyndon Station, officers were dispatched to W. Flint Street and S. Wisconsin Street for a hit and run crash. Upon arrival, a deputy made contact with a group of people that were sitting in front of a bar. One witness stated that there was a group of people arguing in the street in front of the bars. A group of people got into a red Chevy Impala and some other people got into a black Chevy Cobalt. When the Impala was turning off of Wisconsin Street onto Flint Street, pulled into the intersection, the Chevy Cobalt accelerated smashing the driver’s side of the Impala. The witness stated the Cobalt left the scene on CTH HH and the passengers of the Impala got out of the car and were transported by a white Pontiac. The Impala had four passengers when it was struck. Another witness told officials that Ryckman had been arguing with one of the passengers of the Impala prior to the accident. The witness stated a passenger had been transported to the hospital with a leg injury, and that he saw Ryckman get into the driver’s seat of the Cobalt.
Court records show an initial appearance is scheduled for September 13 at 9:00am at the Juneau County Justice Center.
