>>Governor Decides Not To Appeal Ruling On Special Elections
(Madison, WI) — Governor Scott Walker has changed his mind and will apparently call a special election for two vacant legislative seats this (Thursday) morning. Walker’s office announced he decided not to appeal to the Wisconsin Supreme Court a judge’s denial of his request for eight more days. The deadline is at noon. The Wisconsin Department of Justice had indicated the governor would call the elections for June 12th if he lost his appeal. That wasn’t affirmed as the date for the special elections when he dropped the effort. It isn’t clear if the action taken by the Wisconsin Senate during a meeting next week would cancel a previously-called special election.

Loyalty Dixon says the young people who were fighting should have been ticketed, not taken into custody. She says her daughters — ages 14 and 15 — were bruised and one of them was taken to the ground. Her daughters deny striking the officers. Dixon says she isn’t defending her teenagers’ behavior.

Two people got out of the vehicle, looked at Owen, then got back in and drove away. S-U-V driver Barry Watters was arrested and he made a Tuesday court appearance, with a preliminary hearing next week. He’s charged with three felonies and three misdemeanors.
