Weiland, Sandra Jean (Sandy), age 53
It is with great sadness that Sandra (Sandy) Jean Weiland, devoted mother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly at home on March 29, 2018 due to an aneurysm. Though her time on Earth was cut short, Sandy is finally relieved of her ongoing battle with chronic pain caused by multiple injuries and surgeries. Her energy and zest were felt by those who encountered her presence and she will be missed by all who loved her.
Born in Mauston, Wisconsin to Morton Lee and Darlene Weiland, Sandra grew up in Mauston and graduated from Mauston High School. She went on to become a real estate agent, among other roles, and most notably enjoyed her time as a teacher’s assistant for the Mauston Charter School. A vibrant soul full of conviction, Sandy was a fierce political and religious enthusiast and spent much of her free time in recent years immersed in research and sharing her findings with all who would listen.
Sandy shared her family’s love of great music, mouthwatering food and lively gatherings. A woman of many facets, she relished a quiet night in watching movies of many genres and TV comedies but also enjoyed being social with her close circle of friends and family. Her love of animals radiated, from adoring family pets to nurturing friendly squirrels and birds at her home. Sandy was the mama bear of all mama bears, the biggest supporter and protector of her children but she most adored being and an incredible grandma to her beloved grandchildren – giggling like a kid right alongside them all the way.
Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sara (Aaron) Tetzloff and Ahna Marie Barreau and her son, Michael Barreau; grandchildren, Theodore, Linus, Joseph, Evangeline, Franklin and Isolde; mother (Darlene Weiland); brothers, Michael (Patricia) Weiland, Phillip (Vera) Weilandand Thomas (Michelle Boles) Weiland; sister Carol (Christopher) Swan; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morton Lee (Lee) Weiland and grandmother Mary Kirby.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Faith Christian Church, N4691 Hwy 12- 16, Mauston (west of Mauston toward New Lisbon) with Pastor Donovan Blair officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 pm (Noon) until time of service at the church.
