Rome Police Department Requesting Public’s Help with Damaged Mailboxes
The Rome Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with a crime that was committed during the early morning of November 21. Sometime between 12:00 am and 5:00 am, someone damaged more than 30 mailboxes in the northwest corner of the township; north of Alpine Drive and the Cranbrook Court subdivision. The mailboxes were damaged with what was believed to a baseball bat, wood 2X4s and similar objects. Damage to mailboxes was also reported to Wood County Sheriff’s Department where nearly 60 mailboxes were damaged in the Town of Saratoga during the same timeframe and damaged similarly to the ones in Rome. If anyone has any information about the person or persons who may have damaged the mailboxes, contact the Town of Rome Police Department and reference Case #R17-1108, or contact Adams County Crime Stoppers by TEXTING the tip to CRIMES (274637) with keyword “ADAMS”. You may be eligible for CA$H rewards up to $1,000.00 and can remain anonymous. Citizens should not attempt to apprehend these individuals themselves!
