Reedsburg Area Medical Center Renovating and Updating Facilities
Reedsburg Area Medical Center is in the process of renovating and updating their hospital. The project is nearly 10 year in the making. The upgrades were spear headed after staff discovered leaky pipes in the 40 year old building. Updates include: updating cooling and heating units, plus updating electrical and plumbing facilities. Boilers in the hospital are as old as the building itself. The hospital will have a new central utility plant that will include new boilers, coolers, and chilling tower. In addition the hospital is adding a penthouse on top of the current building for three air handling units. The addition will allow for the current air handling unit space to be used for patient care. Renovations to the Reedsburg Medical Center include: changing double occupancy rooms to private patient rooms, updating the laboratory (doubling its size), updating the in-patient pharmacy, adding new sleep lab rooms, updating the registration areas & gift shop, and making areas more sound proof. There are 8 phases to the project that is expected to be completed around the fall of 2019. The pr
oject has an estimated cost of $25M.
