Necedah & Mauston High School Powerlifters Adds More Weight to its Trophy Case
Necedah added to their weightlifting prowess during the USA Powerlifting High School National Meet held in Appleton, March 22-25th. Two Necedah girl powerlifters took home JV gold. Machaela Exner won her 1st place gold in the female 63kg equipped division by squatting 165kg, benching 82.5kg and deadlifting 162.5kg for a total of 410kg. Elena Marquez competed in the 72kg raw division and won gold by squatting 137.5kg, benching 57.5kg and deadlifting 137.5kg for a total of 332.5kg. New Lisbon’s Hannah Slater won varsity gold at the 63kg raw division by squatting 130kg, bench pressing 60kg and deadlifting 135kg, for a total of 325kg. Noelle Ladwig was Necedah’s top finisher in varsity action placing 5th in the 47kg division. Brian Bauch of Necedah placed 3rd in the varsity men’s 53kg raw division. As a team Mauston took 2nd in the varsity males’ raw team competition while the lady Golden Eagles took 4th as a team.
