Former Correctional Officer Charged With Smuggling Drugs Into Prison

A former Wisconsin correctional officer is scheduled to make a Dodge County Circuit Court appearance next month to face drug charges.  Prosecutors say 29-year-old Jeffery Groleau smuggled drugs into the Waupun Correctional Institution while he worked there.  If he’s convicted on all the charges he faces he could receive a sentence of 30 years in prison.  Groleau told investigators he would meet a woman in local stores and she would give him cell phones and drugs to smuggle into the facility.  He was given heroin as payment.  The woman committed suicide shortly after a search warrant was executed on her property.
