Federal Funding Approved, But Much Less Than Requested

The state of Wisconsin will receive 160-million dollars from Wash9ington to expand Interstate-94 near the location of the new Foxconn Technology plant in Mount Pleasant.  That’s 86-million less than the governor had requested.  Interested parties like the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin are asking where the rest of the money is coming from.  The widening and rebuilding project for I-94 is expected to have a price tag of about 500-million dollars.  Wisconsin had hoped the federal money would cover about half of the expense.
