Hillsboro Woman Receives Minor Injuries After Swerving to Miss a Deer

A Hillsboro woman was medically transported with minor injuries after a single vehicle crash in Juneau County August 14. 32-year-old Erin Voltz was eastbound on County Highway O in the Town of Plymouth when she told officials that she swerved to miss a deer in the road. The vehicle entered the ditch, struck and went through a barbed wired fence, continued down the steep terrain and came to rest after hitting a tree about 50 yards off the roadway. One Injured After Crashing Through Shed

A Genoa man received minor injuries when the car he was riding in went off the road and crashed through a machine shed early Friday morning. Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said 33-year-old Ivan A. Baer of Genoa, was Northbound on Curti Rd in the Town of Genoa when his vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole, went through a fence, and then struck a machine shed, going through the sliding doors and striking several pieces of machinery. The vehicle came to rest in the machine shed against a corn planter. The passenger, 24-year-old Dmitry Baer of Genoa was transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Chaseburg Man Strikes 100 Construction Barrels in Vernon County

Authorities say an 18-year-old Chaseburg man drove through about 100 construction barrels in Vernon County on two consecutive nights last week. According to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears Alexxander S. Bishop drove into the barrels in the road construction zone on Highway 14/61, on the East Coon Valley Hill, located in the town of Coon after midnight on Tuesday and at about 1:30am Wednesday. Spears said on both occasions Bishop left the scene before authorities arrived. Throughout the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers were able to identify Bishop as the driver of the vehicle. Bishop did not report any injuries in either instance.
