The American Red Cross urges eligible donors of all races and ethnicities to give blood to help ensure a diverse blood supply for patients in need. Some blood types are unique to certain racial and ethnic groups, so a diverse blood supply is important to meeting the medical needs of an increasingly diverse patient populations. Donors of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as all blood types, are needed to help patients fight sickle cell disease, alpha thalassemia and other illnesses. Upcoming blood drives are: October 12 – First Baptist Church in New Lisbon from 11:30pm – 5:30pm October 16 – Adams Community Center from 12:30pm – 5:30pm October 21

Thank You for Keeping Our Kids Healthy   Each year, a Juneau County Wisconsin Wins Team which consists of an adult supervisor and area youth, conduct tobacco compliance checks at local businesses.  They record whether or not the underage youth are able to purchase tobacco products from the retailers. During the past round of tobacco compliance checks; Camp Douglas, Hustler, New Lisbon, Necedah, Mauston, Lyndon Station, and Wisconsin Dells retailers upheld the law and refused the sale of tobacco to our underage youth. There were 42 tobacco compliance checks completed in Juneau County this summer, 2017. Out of the 42 local businesses that were checked, there was only 1 sale

2017 CITY OF MAUSTON RESIDENTIAL FALL CLEAN UP Oct. 16th, 17th, 18th Mauston’s residential fall cleanup will be handled on Oct. 16th, 17th, 18th. Items are to be placed curbside for pick-up on your REGULAR GARBAGE PICK-UP DAY BY 7 AM. Garbage/Trash: Must be in clear bags or in a container of 50 pounds or less. Appliances “White Goods”: City crews will collect stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters, etc. Furniture: Lenorud Services will collect larger furniture items, such as sofas, chairs, tables, etc. Glass: Window glass must be removed from the frames and placed in a trashcan or box.
