Year-Long Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Spring Green Man

A 43-year-old Spring Green man has pleaded no contest to two felony drug and theft charges.  Nicholas E. Liegel was arrested after a year-long investigation of heroin trafficking in Sauk County.  Authorities say Liegel sold heroin to a confidential informant on two occasions.  The drug investigation turned up evidence he was stealing copper from his workplace at A-A-M Casings in Reedsburg and selling it at scrap yards.  Investigators say he took more than 12 tons of copper and sold it for about 71-thousand dollars.  Leigel was arrested last September.
