>>Judge Rules Prosecutors Lack Probable Cause (Wausau, WI)  —  A Marathon County judge told prosecutors there wasn’t enough probable cause to move forward with two felony charges against a Wausau mother.  Twenty-six-year-old Chantele O’Brien was accused of causing mental harm to a child, plus two counts of child neglect.  Police found evidence of drug use when they executed a search warrant at her home.  When police arrived at the door, O’Brien’s seven-year-old daughter reportedly asked if officers were there to get “all the needles,” then showed them where they were.  O’Brien will still have to face the two misdemeanor neglect charges.   >>Transport Van Driver Charged With Sexual Assault (Fairchild,

Fire Breaks out at Brunner Manufacturing Building in Mauston

A fire broke out at 1010 Parker Drive in Mauston at around 9:15 this morning (April 3rd).  The building is used by Brunner Manufacturing.  The cause of the fire is currently unknown but Mauston Fire Chief Kim Hale believes it could have been caused by an “air handling unit”.  That theory may change as they learn more, as Chief Hale emphasized it is still too early and more information may come out.  Employees could be seen fleeing the building and multiple employees were treated for smoke inhalation.  It is not currently known whether there were additional injuries at this time.
