Hearing Scheduled for Madison Man Accused of Killing His Wife

An April 30th plea hearing has been scheduled for a Madison man accused of killing his wife, then causing their house to explode with her body inside.  Prosecutors say Steven Pirus admitted to shooting his 50-year-old wife to death long before their home blew up last September.  Lee Anne Pirus’ body was found in the rubble.  A final pretrial meeting for the Pirus case was held in Dane County Court Monday.  He is expected to plead guilty, ending the need for a two-week trial which was going to be held next summer. Mayor Barrett Discusses Lead Poisoning
