WISCONSINREPORT.COM (04/17/2015) – A new Marquette University Law School poll shows that 78 percent of Wisconsin voters oppose Governor Scott Walker’s plan to cut aid to schools by $127 million. Nearly that many state voters, 70 percent, do not appreciate the Governor Walker plan to also cut $300 Million from the University of Wisconsin system.

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/23/2015) – The United States Supreme Court failed to take up the challenge to the State’s Voter ID law. That effectively validates the law, putting it into effect. However, it will not go into effect until after the current April 7th election process, which is already in progress.

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/19/2015) – The Sierra Club is worried about Wisconsin cutting 66 DNR positions and stripping authority away from the Natural Resources Board intended in the 2015-2017 state budget proposed by Gov. Scott Walker. The conservation organization is also concerned about excessive amounts of Transportation Department borrowing, and other matters.

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/16/2015) [PART ONE] – The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin (LWV) is urging lawmakers on the State Committee on Finance to keep Quality of Life in mind during their deliberations over the proposed State Budget. Meanwhile, members of the Joint Finance Committee will hold public hearings on the proposed 2015-17 state budget in various locations around the state.

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/10/2015) – The shooting incident in Madison, Wisconsin, Friday, involving a police officer, is now the subject of an independent investigation mandated by Wisconsin law. The law was co-authored by Madison area State Assembly Representative Chris Taylor (D-Madison) in the last session of the State Legislature. Coincidentally, she says she was in the area where the Friday shooting took place.
