Blueberry Harvesting Season Starts In NE Wisconsin
Blueberry producers are hoping for a big crop in northeastern Wisconsin. This has been a challenging growing season for the crop. Blizzard Evelyn deposited 33 inches of snow one farm near Navarino in Shawano County. The weather went from extremely cold, causing some die-off issues, to extreme heat on Memorial Day. Blueberry picking is expected to last a couple of weeks. Damp conditions slowed things a little Thursday. Strawberry season just ended last week in that part of the state.
