Area High School Varsity Sports Results from Thursday 2/1/18

BOYS BASKETBALL
Royall defeated Hillsboro 69-46. Despite trailing at half by two, 6th ranked Royall rallied to win behing a 30-12 run early in the second half.  The Panthers were led by Seth Brown with 31 points, Jaydyn Ezenbacher added 16 points.  The Tigers were led by Noah Feala with 10 points.  Royall improves to 13-2 on the year and 7-2 in the conference, tied for second with Necedah in the Scenic Bluffs.  Hillsboro is 4-5 in the conference and 9-8 overall.

Bangor defeated Necedah 81-61. Bangor pulled away in a tightly contested game to take control of the conference lead. Miles Saylor paced Necedah with 22 points, 11 in each half. The back and forth game saw Necedah pull it within 4 points a couple of times in the second half only to have Bangor make a run. The deficit stood at just 5 points with 4 minutes remaining in the game but the Cardinals ran out of gas. Murphy added 14 and Waltemath 9 for Necedah, who suffered just their second conference loss of the season – both to Bangor.

Cashton defeated Wonewoc-Center 60-53

Tomah defeated Black River Falls 66-51

 

BOYS HOCKEY

Wis Dells/Reedsburg defeated Baraboo/Portage 4-1

 

GIRLS HOCKEY

Tomah defeated Onalaska 4-1
