Adams County Man Facing Multiple Charges after Trying to Take Matters into His Own Hands

Michael Harmeyer, 38 of Adams is facing 6 counts after allegedly trying to take matters into his own hands.  Harmeyer shoved a man down a flight of stairs after he found out the man had slept with a family member who was under the age of 18.  Harmeyer then duct taped the man to a wheel chair and tortured him.  Harmeyer took a hammer to the victim’s foot and used a spliced lamp cord to cause electrical burns to the victim’s neck and face.  The victim claims other people were there and helped torture him physically and verbally.  Harmeyer did free the victim and let him leave.  Authorities later arrived at Harmeyers residence and found 16 grams of THC and other drug paraphernalia in the house. Harmeyer is facing charges of Substantial Battery, False Imprisonment, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of THC, and a Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
