>>Road Projects Near Foxconn Plant Could Reduce Spending Elsewhere

(Madison, WI)  —  The Legislative Fiscal Bureau reports paying for road-building near the new Foxconn electronics manufacturing plant could reduce available funding for the rest of the state by 90-million dollars.  The Bureau included that estimate in a memo forwarded to Democratic lawmakers Wednesday.  Minority Leader Gordon Hintz says that means the governor is giving the Foxconn project priority over fixing roads in the rest of the state.  Backers have said Foxconn will mean 13-thousand jobs for southeastern Wisconsin.

>>5 Years Added To Prison Time For Rock County Defendant

(Janesville, WI)  —  Rock County Judge James Daley has sentenced the man who was the subject of a massive manhunt last year to an additional five years in state prison.  Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Jakubowski was found guilty of breaking into Armageddon Supplies in Janesville and stealing 18 firearms last April.  In a statement given in court Wednesday, Jakubowski reiterated his anti-government views.  The judge said a big factor in his sentencing decision was the fact that 13 of the stolen firearms are still missing — and he believes Jakubowski knows where they are.  He was captured last year in western Wisconsin after a 10-day statewide manhunt.

Judge Jill Falstad from Wausau was appointed in his place.  Investigators say the suspect’s exact location hasn’t been accounted for as the time Barbara Mendez was killed. Forensic evidence shows she was beaten severely, suffering several blows to the head.  Police say her assailant may have used a pry bar to kill her.
