Fifteen teams competed at the Westby with over a hundred runners in each race. “Our sectional featured some of the best teams and cross country runners in the state. The girls race feature two of the top five ranked teams in girls division two cross country as well as the top ranked individual in all divisions in the state. Needless to say, the competition, the course and the emotions of high school athletics provide for an  exciting sectional cross country meet.” commented Coach Bill DeVoe.

“Journey had a great race, she went out super stronger and just kept attacking the course throughout the race. We are so proud of Journey. The best part is that she still has more in the tank. Journey was our lead runner, but the rest of our team was in hot pursuit. We knew that the Dells and Westby were going to be in a battle for the top two teams, we wanted to be in position in case one of them opened the door for us. It was fun to watch, whatever they had to give, they gave,” stated Coach DeVoe.
