Both Sides In Burke vs. Walker Debate Declare Victory

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (10/11/2014) [CAMPAIGNS] – As is usually the case following political debates, both sides in the first debate between Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) and Democrat Mary Burke have declared their candidate made the most points in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association debate.

The Friends of Scott Walker Campaign Manager, Stephan Thompson, said, “Wisconsinites saw a clear vision to continue Wisconsin’s Comeback with Governor Walker”, while, he said, “Mary Burke offered more of the same tired and failed ideas that gave Wisconsin record job loss, double digit tax increases and billion dollar budget deficits”.

Burke for Wisconsin Campaign Manager, Maggie Brickerman, saw it a different way. Brickerman suggested Wisconsin voters had an opportunity to see what a Wisconsin with Governor Mary Burke leading the way will look like.

“Her vision for Wisconsin is based on making Wisconsin a thriving, top ten economy where everyone who is willing to do the hard work has a fair shot at success”, Maggie Brickerman said.

“Her approach is based on her success as a businessperson in both the public and private sectors”, Burke’s campaign manager continued.

“Wisconsin families can’t take another four years of the governor’s failed policies, and they’re ready for a new direction with Mary Burke,” Brickerman said.

Governor Walker’s campaign manager, Stephan Thompson, pointed to what he considers valid accomplishments the Walker re-election campaign stresses.

“Since being elected, Governor Walker’s leadership has resulted in more than 100,000 jobs and unemployment is the lowest it’s been since 2008,” Thompson said.

In the hour-long televised event, Burke laid out her vision for growing Wisconsin’s economy and taking the state in a new direction. A direction Burke claims puts people ahead of special interests and problem-solving ahead of politics.

Governor Walker’s campaign manager disagrees about any idea that challenger Mary Burke was the victorious one in the debate.

“This was a clear win for Governor Walker whose policies have Wisconsin moving forward”, Walker’s Campaign Manager Stephan Thompson declared.
