Mauston School Board Approves 2018 Tax Levy and 2017-2018 Budget

The Mauston School Board approved the annual budget for the 2017-2018 school year at a special meeting on Monday night. The board also approved the tax levy at about $7,366,803, making the mil rate $10.49 per $1,000. That’s down 67 cents from last year’s mil rate, which was $11.16 per $1,000. Business Manager Julie Lankey-Smallwood said the total tax levy decreased by $75,112 from last year, a 1.01 percent decrease.
